The problem
A news site that gives every story away has nothing to sell. A property desk bolted on later usually becomes a second, unrelated website.
What we did
WordPress for the newsroom: editors, interviews, a deal and development tracker, and city records. The reading rule is five stories in a month, then a premium account for the rest. The same install has cities, listings, and agents, so a multi-agent seller site can live beside the news. Custom plugins carry the reading limit and the property side, and those plugins are products the studio can sell.
What is live
249 stories are public, across 16 cities. The premium gate and the agent desk are part of the same WordPress, not a separate app.
